Osprey THE NEWEST FEATURE on Outtakes is Seasons and Scenes which comprises pictures shot during all four seasons and at various locales, including the six New England states, Virginia, New Mexico, and Florida.

I became interested in photographing birds in 2001. All of my pictures have been made with a Canon digital SLR cameras. They were shot in Virginia, New Hampshire, Maine, Maryland, New Jersey, New Mexico, Delaware, and Florida since April 2001. Whether or not you're a "birder," take a look!

Sony DSC D770In May, 2000, I bought my first digital camera: a Sony DSC D770, shown at right. It was fabulous, although I decided that I wanted something even better after just two months of shooting more than 4000 pictures with it!

My second digital camera, purchased in July, 2000, was a Nikon D1 with three lenses. I sold all of my old Canon T90 film cameras and lenses, as well as the Sony digital camera, in order to pay for the Nikon camera system.

Canon D30 with 300mm lens Since then I've owned several other digital cameras: Olympus E-10, Canon D30, Canon D60, Canon 10d, Canon 20d, Canon 5d, and Canon 1d Mark II. I use lenses ranging from 15mm to 500mm with extenders that increase their magnification. Shown at right is one of my bird photography setups: a Canon digital camera with a 300mm f2.8 lens plus 2x extender, mounted on a Kirk tripod head.

I'm having a great time shooting pictures with my digital cameras and you'll see lots of new ones here.
