EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:
Master of Fine Arts degree in photography from Rochester Institute of Technology, Rochester, NY.EMPLOYMENT BACKGROUND: Since August, 2007, I've been working as a graphic designer in the publications department of Hampden-Sydney College (one of only two all-mens colleges left in the United States). Prior to my move to Virginia in 2006, I worked for several years on a contract basis for Yankee Publishing, Inc., of Dublin, New Hampshire, where I was previously employed full-time. For many years I was intimately involved in the design and production of these Yankee Web sites: I have extensive experience in HTML programming and graphics applications such as QuarkXpress, Adobe InDesign, Adobe PhotoShop, and Adobe Illustrator. Previously I held these positions:
BOOKS I have authored or co-authored include "Campobello: Roosevelt's Beloved Island," which I wrote and photographed, and "The Anvil and the Whittling Knife," written by Norman Beaupre, which I photographed. EXHIBITS of my photographs have appeared at the following locations: National Portrait Gallery (Washington, D.C.), University of Maine (Orono, Maine), Rochester Institute of Technology (Rochester, New York), the United States Capitol (Washington, D.C.), Bates College (Lewiston, Maine), and Westbrook College (Portland, Maine).
TEACHING EXPERIENCE includes: a fall semester course in photojournalism at Boston University and guest lectures at Emerson College, Boston University, Portland School of Art (five day workshop), Salt Magazine (week-long workshop at the College of the Atlantic), and several Maine grade schools and high schools.
